The age at which a dog is considered a senior depends on their breed and size.
Typically, mini breeds are considered senior at around 11 or 12 years old, medium breeds at around 9 or 10, and maxi breeds at around 7 or 8.
To ensure a smooth transition from adulthood to senior age, we recommend enrolling your dog in the Farmina Pet Care Program and working with a personal Farmina Consultant. They can help you create a free dynamic nutrition plan that is customized to your dog's unique needs and can help prevent weight gain and other issues commonly seen in senior dogs.
